Preserve Moment

You visit the forest preserves, you enjoy the forest preserves, but how well do you remember your favorite forest preserve locations?

The Forest Preserve District of Will County is about to find out. A new Mystery 360 contest will test your ability to recognize specific locations within the District. Every Wednesday in September at approximately 8:45 p.m., the District will post a 360-degree photo to its Facebook page. Each photo will be accompanied by a question.

Scrutinize the photo, and once you think you know the answer to the question, post your guess in the comment section under the photo. In some cases, you’ll be asked to identify a specific trail or preserve. Other times, the correct answer might be the name of a forest preserve waterway. Mystery 360 responses must clearly answer the question posed.

Be the first to ID the photo correctly to win a prize. Winners will receive their choice of a USB flash drive, a glass photo frame or a power bank for charging mobile devices. Participants must be 18 years old or older. Only one guess per person will be allowed each week.

The full rules:

I. Eligibility
A.) Contestants must be 18 years old or older and U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents (green card).
B.) Forest Preserve District of Will County (FPDWC) employees, volunteers, Board members, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the contest. Immediate family includes only spouses, parents, and children.
C.) The FPDWC reserves the right to verify, in its sole judgment, winner eligibility.
D.) Rules are subject to change without notice but will be posted at ReconnectWithNature.org.

II. Contest Entry
A.) A 360-degree photo will be posted to the District’s Facebook page on Wednesday evening at 8:45 p.m. each week throughout the month of September. Each photo will be accompanied by a question.
B.) Contestants must submit their answer to the question identifying the 360-degree photo by leaving a comment on that particular 360-degree photo post on the Forest Preserve’s Facebook page. Answers provided through other means will not be accepted.
C.) Answers submitted must clearly answer the question posed based on the 360-degree photo. Submissions which are unclear or provide a vague or inadequate response as deemed by Forest Preserve staff will be disqualified.
D.) Each contestant is allowed one guess per week. The first person — based on time stamp — to post a comment on the Forest Preserve’s Facebook page correctly answering the question is the winner for that week and will receive a prize.
E.) Entries that fail to comply with the Contest Rules will be disqualified without notice.
F.) The decisions of Forest Preserve staff are final in administering the contest.

C.) The prizes are nontransferable, and no cash alternative is available.

IV. Legal Conditions
A.) The Forest Preserve District of Will County reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it finds in its sole discretion a failure by the contestant to comply with the Contest Rules. Decisions of the Forest Preserve District shall be final and binding.
