This celebration of creativity will take place from noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17. Proposals for artists who want to participate in the event are being accepted. The Forest Preserve District is seeking 12-20 individuals, or small groups, from a variety of disciplines who can connect people with nature and the art it inspires.
Artists may use the natural setting of Four Rivers, or any element of nature, as a cue for linking their art form to this year's theme of "Finding Flow." Participants will be grouped in four categories: exhibits, demonstrations, performances and participatory or hands-on activities.
Interested artists are invited to forward a brief artist bio, description of their work and a representative photo, video or audio file along with their take on the theme to FourRivers@fpdwc.org. Additional questions or inquiries can be sent to the same email address. The deadline for proposals is March 15 with artist notification by April 1.
No sales or vending will be allowed at the event. However, artists will be able to promote their own work to visitors through approved means. Please note that this is an "unplugged" event. No power or amplification will be provided or allowed. Most of the event area is outdoors with very limited indoor space available. The event will take place rain or shine.
