ComEd contractors will be working at Forked Creek Preserve Ballou Road Access in Wesley Township near Wilmington beginning Friday, February 10.

Workers will be installing mats, which are large wooden platforms, on the ground in the ComEd right of way for equipment. Also, snow fencing will be used to block off the workers' path as they install a large transmission tower near the Wauponsee Glacial Trail, just south of West Ballou Road.

Contractors will park vehicles and equipment in the equestrian parking lot, and they will be using the preserve driveway to access the job site.

The preserve and trail will remain open during the ComEd project, which is scheduled for completion by the end of February. Site restoration work is scheduled for spring.

Weather and other variables may impact the work schedule, and updates will be posted here as necessary.
